Improving export competitiveness is essential in increasing Caribbean exports regionally and internationally. For Caribbean countries exporting services provides the opportunity to expand production, boost employment, reduce unit costs, and increase incomes. Analyzing the export competitiveness of Caribbean Services Providers project is important as it allows firms to better exploit comparative advantages to generate higher incomes, which can increase skills, capital, and technology to enhance competitiveness over time. The knowledge gained from exposure to export competition helps in raising productivity and innovating with new products and services. The services sector plays a critical role in many Caribbean countries. According to the International Trade Centre (ITC), CARIFORUM exports of services amounted to over one hundred million over the period 2014-2018. Despite the importance of services, many CARIFORUM states are yet to fully explore its potential. We have also recognized that notwithstanding extensive training and the development of export plans, there is a need for further analysis and more practical approaches to generating business and increased exports.
The overall objective of the Export Competitiveness Accelerator is to increase the export competitiveness of CARIFORUM Services providers.
Stage I: MEASUREMENT OF COMPETITIVE EXPORTS CAPABILITIES (EXPORT CHECK-UP)
Objective: Identify the export competitiveness of the company for its performance to grow internationally.
Stage II: MARKET SELECTION METHODOLOGY
Objective: Selection of the new export markets where companies are more competitive to do business.
Stage III: VIRTUAL MEETINGS WITH INTERNATIONAL BUYERS
Objective: Service Providers would be connected with potential international buyers to sell their services.
