Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Kamla Persad-Bissessar got to hear of the good work of the Barbados based Caribbean Export Development Agency, during the just concluded Trade and Investment Convention (TIC) in Port of Spain After officially opening the trade show component of the TIC at the Hyatt Regency hotel last week, the Prime Minister visited several booths, including that of Caribbean Export. Executive Director of Caribbean Export, Pamela Coke Hamilton welcomed the Trinidadian leader to the trade show and outlined the efforts of the Agency in working with various regional companies to improve their competitiveness and export readiness. Around a dozen companies, from 10 regional countries, were able to showcase their products at TIC 2011 with the assistance of Caribbean Export.

Among others, they included wine producers from Suriname, specialty teas from Trinidad, beverages from Belize, pepper-sauce, confectionery and seasonings from Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and 100 percent sea-island cotton garments from Barbados.
