Caribbean Export Councils have been set up in Haiti, Suriname, Guyana, the Bahamas, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica to improve Caribbean Export’s delivery of technical support to its clients. These councils are seeking to deepen our involvement at national level by agreeing with local stakeholders on some specific actions which can be taken with Caribbean Export in the short term. These actions draw on ongoing programmes being carried out by the Agency and are tailored to meet the immediate needs of each state.

The action plans include:

  • workshops focusing on the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA)
  • the agency’s Direct Assistance Grant Scheme
  • networking by Business Support Organisations (BSOs) and priority sector groups, for example in the ICT, Fashion, and Health & Wellness sectors
