The Caribbean is a youthful region, with over 60% of the population under the age of 30 years. Despite this, youth unemployment rates remain high with some studies estimating this can be nearly 3 times the national unemployment average. In view of this supporting the development of youth within our communities has become critical.
Caribbean Export with the support of the European Union is committed to supporting youth in business contributing towards the region’s economic and social development.
The Caribbean Week of Agriculture (CWA) provides an excellent platform for youth in agro-processing to network and promote their goods and services while giving them a voice in industry discussions.
Caribbean Export has sponsored the attendance of 8 youth owned business from across the CARIFORUM to attend CWA and to participate in the Agency’s booth (located at E 14) to showcase their innovative products using the region’s finest natural resources.
