The Caribbean Pavilion at this year’s Fancy Food Show, will feature a record number of participating companies as a result of the specialty food seminars held in March by Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) in Jamaica, Bahamas, and Belize.
The Caribbean Pavilion, coordinated by Caribbean Export, will provide regional exhibitors the chance to attract buyers attending the 55th Summer Fancy Food Show (FFS) which will be held from June 28 – 30, 2009 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York. The FFS is the largest and the single most important forum for exporters to meet and promote their products to trade buyers in the mainstream New York market.
The New York Tri-State Market is the largest food retail market in North America, comprising New York City, Long Island, Connecticut and New Jersey. Total food store and C-store sales for the market were estimated to be US $55 billion dollars in 2006. In addition, there is a large ethnic Caribbean community in the New York area with a structured importer/distributor network reaching many of the small and medium-sized retailers and supermarkets in this area.
