Background
Agroalimentaria is the most important food, Tobacco and Beverages trade show in the Dominican Republic. The fair is recognized by numerous international exhibitors and international buyers and guests from EE.UU, Europe and Caribbean region that have had the experience of visiting past editions. This trade show is a benchmark event whose success derives from highly specialized offerings of products from the Dominican Republic, innovation and a determined commitment to the show’s international focus.
The 4th edition of Agroalimentaria will take place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from May 23 to 25, 2013 www.agroalimentaria.com.do .
Proposal for assistance
Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export), under the “Haiti-Dominican Republic Programme of Bilateral Economic and Trade Cooperation in the Context of the CARIFORUM-EC Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) funded by the European Union under the 10th European Development Fund (EDF) (FED/2012/295-834) will be contributing a maximum of US$1,000 for airline ticket to buyers/Importers from CARIFORUM and the EU interested in attending this trade show. This intervention is focused on creating business opportunities between Haiti and DR suppliers in the framework of the EPA.
Interested companies must complete the attached Expression of Interest form and submit all required documentation to Caribbean Export. Submissions must be addressed to:

Expressions of interests must be submitted no later than Friday April 12, 2013.
Interested participants are also required to provide additional documentation with the Expression of Interest Form as follows:
- A company profile not exceeding two hundred (200) words
All applications are subject to approval of acceptance by a Selection Committee.
Criteria
Firms must:
- Be a Registered Company or Business Name in any of the CARIFORUM and/or EU countries
- Be in operation for at least two years
- Demonstrate business growth and profitability
- Have sufficient financial and human resources to secure orders
- Comply with relevant international standards (if applicable)
- Have sound financing to support follow up activities
- Demonstrate awareness about market conditions in the intended export market(s)
Please note that for this event, Caribbean Export will only contribute for airline ticket up to a maximum of US$1,000 on economy class and through the most direct route.
