Bridgetown, Barbados, March 7, 2013. Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) is pleased to announce that ten regional trainers have been selected to participate in the ProNet Train the Trainers workshop with the aim to eventually become certified in four ProNet modules; Quality Management, Resources Management, Knowledge & Information Management and Export Marketing. Following the Train the Trainers workshops, attendees will deliver training to regional small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in order to become certified ProNet trainers. Caribbean Export in partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationae Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) offers ProNet training to SMEs. The training of regional trainers is an important step toward increasing the accessibility of ProNet to businesses.
A total of ten trainers have been selected from Jamaica, Bahamas, Saint Lucia, Dominican Republic, Dominica, St. Kitts & Nevis and Barbados. They are;

They will be added to the pool of existing ProNet trainers who have already been trained and certified in other modules, namely; Business Strategy, Production Management, Product Development, Human Resources Management and Cost & Financial Management. Working together with local Business Support Organisations (BSOs) the training is designed to provide institutional strengthening and export marketing training to the SME sector thus improving their basic business skills while at the same time increasing their productivity and competitiveness. The eventual goal of these trainings are to make regional firms export ready and positioned to take advantage of the opportunities available under the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).
